Cookie policy
Nature Live Cams sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser to remember something about your visit, such as a preference or a signed-in session. First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party cookies, by other services embedded in it.
Our own cookies
None. There are no accounts, no forms and no analytics tools.
Third-party cookies
- YouTube livestreams load in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only after you press play. From that moment, YouTube's own policy applies.
- Windy, ipcamlive and garr.tv (the INGV livestreams) use each service's own player, which also loads only when you press play and may set its own cookies under its policy.
- Still images from observatories and agencies, the Japan Meteorological Agency among them, load straight from their servers, which can log the request like any image on the web.
Advertising cookies
Nature Live Cams is funded by Google AdSense ads. When they are shown, Google and its partners may set third-party cookies to choose the ads, limit how often you see the same one and measure their results, taking into account your previous visits to this and other websites. They are Google's cookies, not ours, and Google explains them in its advertising policy.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, none is set without your consent: a Google-certified message lets you accept, reject or choose, and you can change your mind from that same message.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's My Ad Center.
While ads are not switched on, none is set.
How to control cookies
You can see, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under privacy.
If this changes
If the cookies we use change, this page will say so first.
