A private webcam network on La Palma, with cameras on the 2021 volcano and the Caldera de Taburiente.

webcam-lapalma.de is a small private network of cameras on the island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands, run by residents who stream them around the clock on YouTube. It grew in importance during the eruption of 2021, when its images of the new volcano were watched from all over the world.

Its cameras look at the cone of Tajogaite and the lava fields that reached the sea, at the Aridane valley in a 180-degree panorama, and from Roque de los Muchachos into the Caldera de Taburiente, often above a sea of clouds.

Streams like these fill a real gap. The Spanish authorities monitor the islands closely, but they do not publish public cameras of their own on La Palma, so a private network ends up providing the only continuous view of an area that changed the lives of thousands of people.

Each stream is credited on its page and links back to the channel that runs it.
