Live from Iceland webcams (Míla)
Míla’s network of live cameras around Iceland, from volcanoes and glaciers to the Westman Islands.
Live from Iceland is the webcam network of Míla, an Icelandic telecommunications company that runs much of the country's fibre and mobile infrastructure. Its cameras have become the way the world watches Icelandic eruptions: when a fissure opens, the images that circulate within minutes usually come from one of them.
The network covers far more than volcanoes. It looks at glaciers, waterfalls, harbours, the northern lights and the streets of Reykjavík, and it is free to watch. Míla allows its player to be embedded on other websites, which is how these cameras reach this site.
Here they cover the crater row of Sundhnúkur and the area around Grindavík, where the Reykjanes eruptions have taken place; Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull from the lowlands of South Iceland; Sólheimajökull, the glacier that flows down from the ice cap over Katla; Skjaldbreiður and Lake Þingvallavatn; and four views of Heimaey, in the Westman Islands, where Eldfell erupted in 1973.
Every camera keeps its credit and a link to its page on Live from Iceland.
